  • Alongside with NPM

When I was asked how my working experience with NPM is, I remember this famous adage: “Hard work spotlights the character of people.” To explain that hard work shows the character of people through their reactions, how they respond to it, and how they get the task done. It is all about character and letting people know what you are willing to do, and what you can be counted on to do. Working as a Maintenance Coordinator in NPM everything is relatively new to me, and I had to learn everything from scratch. Aside from that, my thoughts circled into one question: “How will I be able to establish a rapport when the team is miles away from me?” With this, I decided that to establish a good rapport, I need to be transparent and lay everything on the table. I let them know what I can do and cannot do, be vocal when I am having a hard time, and reach out when I need help. Luckily, upon getting to know them, it all turns out natural. We are having conversations like we are only a desk away, not the latter. They made sure to have me involved in all the things that I need to know and taught me everything that I need to understand. And since day one, they have been very understanding and patient with me – especially on those days when I’m still grasping the situation and making a LOT of mistakes. And speaking of mistakes, not even once did they scold me for doing so. They never failed to assure me that it is okay, and everything is fixable. Oh, and before I forgot, they are the sweetest and the most appreciative people I have met. In addition to this, can you believe that they are present on special occasions in my life? They go extra miles by sending me gifts and their regards that constantly make me feel valued and truly part of the team. The list goes on and on that, I may spend the whole day writing. But to sum it all up, it was a joy working with them that my old self would be surprised that I am enjoying what I do – as I never imagined I would be working in front of the computer all day.

  • Walk the Cooee Way Q2 2022 Winner

Being the Quarter 2 Walk the Cooee Way Champion is honestly still hard for me to grasp. Walk the Cooee Way for me is something that we award to someone who has lived the Cooee Values: Authenticity, when you stick to staying true to yourself no matter what the situation is; Empathy, when you think and feel for others; and Belief in Potential, where the word “perfect” is nonexistent. That’s why it's hard for me to believe that I was nominated for WTCW. But I guess that’s just how it works. People around you know who you were before; they see the process of your growth, and when they mention it, you’ll just be surprised at how much you’ve transformed from Version 1 Self to your Better Version 2 Self. For me, the journey to transformation never stops. You should always strive to be the best version of yourself. It will never be an easy journey but it's going to be worth it. Let’s also remember that every action we make has an impact on who we are to ourselves and to others. I will forever be grateful to Cooee, as it has helped me transform to who I am today. Our values aren’t just random words. When you step into Cooee, the values become something that you will learn to live with every day. It's something that will help each and everyone of us transform.

  • House Cup Quarter 2: Autonomy

The House Cup Competition which happens every quarter is a way for everyone to unplug from work. This is one of the few enrichment activities that makes everyone in Cooee closer to each other. This is one of the few enrichment activities that makes everyone in Cooee closer to each other because we get to bond with our housemates through Cooee Connects every Friday. The Quarter 2 Cooee House Cup Competition brought out the competitive side of everyone. The team building that happened last July was the final chance to earn house points. It was fulfilling to see everyone in person for the first time. This was also the reason why everyone hyped up and had a fun, healthy competition where teamwork was displayed. I’d like to commend the house I was assigned to, House Autonomy, and all the other houses for making the Quarter 2 House Cup Competition a memorable one. Looking forward to the next quarter!

  • A Continuous Journey of Gratitude

I am immensely grateful to be awarded as the Optimal Me Winner for Quarter-2. Being a ‘Nooee’ in a company where everything is new to me, I did not expect to be nominated by anyone nor did I expect to receive this kind of recognition. And what makes this more memorable for me, is knowing that there is someone who truly appreciates you, and most of all there is someone who really believes in your potential. My heartfelt thank you to my Coach Ms. Meiko for nominating me for the Optimal Me recognition. Thank you for always encouraging me and pushing me to do more, give more and be more. And most of all, thank you for always believing in my potential and being part of my transformation. To my Manager, Ms. JP, to my colleagues and the Management, thank you for the constant support for all of us. To Ms. Pia and KB, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of the COBH program. The Coaching Sessions, Spotted on Strengths, Cooee Connects, sharing of insights, and the COBH program really had a great impact on my transformation. For I know this will not stop here, but a continuous journey not just for me but for all of us here at Cooee. Showing your authenticity to others by staying true to yourself, staying within the right values, and always living with a purpose. Being present and listening without judgment. Believing that all of us have our own infinite potential. And always have the attitude of gratitude. As the quote from Stephanie Simpson said, “It is not happiness that brings us Gratitude, it is GRATITUDE that brings us HAPPINESS.” This quote struck me the most, for I believe that if you make it a habit to express gratitude, you will be able to inspire other people and the real meaning of happiness comes back to you in multitude. Lastly, as what Cooee wants to embed with us: ‘Let’s be part of each other’s transformation – one person, one community, one business at a time.’

  • The Strength of a Weak

A month has passed but I still can't believe that I had this chance to be noticed and awarded. As someone who believes that he's weak, he once received an award for the most number of strengths recognized. I've learned that sometimes there are things people can see in you that you don't, and it felt like standing near the front of a tree that could only see its rough trunk while people from afar can see its fruits. I want to thank Ms. Pia for the sessions that helped me to become a better person who nourishes his strengths and acknowledges his mistakes. It is nearly impossible to find the right path alone without your help and your guidance. I can't surely spell Empathetic without the letters P, I, and A. To Ms. JP, my coach, I want to thank you for being there and for listening to my everyday problems. Yes, it was difficult at first to talk about my fears and downfalls to someone I only met online but you took the effort to understand me and to bring out the best in me. You taught me a lot of things, to conquer my what-ifs and to know my whys. To Sir. Dundee, Ms. Regina, Ms. Cha, Ms. Oden, and Zookal Family, thank you for making my light shine brighter. You made my strength noticeable and without you, I might still be that someone who focuses more on what he can't do instead of what he can. My SRT suits me well all because of your guidance and help and I hope that I could inspire more people to become a "Scavenger's Masterpiece" who sees the art in all the bad things the world is throwing at them.

  • #ReCooeennect highlights Team Building Activities

One of the most highlighted outdoor events in this year’s #Recooeennect is the Team Building that was held in White Rock Beach Hotel Waterpark in Subic. Composed of five groups, House Status, House Certainty, House Autonomy, House Relatedness and House Fairness – named after the SCARF model or the domains of social experience, each house vied for this quarter’s House cup championship which has been recognized during the Awarding ceremony at the Ballroom convention hall. The team building kicked off with each house’s cheers and chants which was dominated by House Certainty. Each activity centered on camaraderie, communication, collaboration, and trust where every house member has been invited to work with their teams under the heat of the sun. It was the first time after two years where the Cooee team has finally been #Recooeennected to celebrate our five years as a family and in business and as well as for everyone to reflect, appreciate, unplug, and have fun.

  • Significant Reconnection

It was such an amazing experience to be part of our company’s #Recooeenect. It’s been more than two years since we work from home because of pandemic, and we haven’t seen each other face to face since then. The first time it was announced that we will be having this event, I felt so excited and hesitant at the same time. Why? Because that would be the same day as my birthday. I am used to spend my birthday with my family, and it will be different this time if ever. But after thinking about it multiple times, I finally decided to join. Seeing every one’s beautiful faces and smiles is so worth it. We are very happy to see each other again and happier to see some of us for the first time. Before, we are just seeing each other on screen, but on that day, we were able to talk, play and laugh together. Connection and teamwork, that’s what we had when our team “House Autonomy” competed with other Houses. Everyone is so energetic and competitive even in the middle of super-hot afternoon, we really enjoyed every fun games we had. I appreciate the belongingness and being good sports of every team. Aside from the good food, refreshing drinks and a very beautiful place to stay, I can say that I have no regrets on celebrating my birthday differently this year. And what really is special to me at that moment is when I was recognized by the Company, and I consider that as part of my blessings. > Most number of strengths recognized > Optimal Me Champion (with my coachee Roslyn) > House Cup Champion – House Autonomy Mixed emotions, but what I am sure of is that I’m super grateful and my heart is jumping with all the recognitions I received for this quarter. I’m proud to say that Cooee Inc and its people have been a big part of my growth and transformation. The Cooee culture and values really are helping a lot of people not just at work but also personally. I know we still have a long way to go but I am confident to face it together with God and my loved ones including my Cooee Family. Together we will strive and go farther.

  • Flipping the Tassel After 2 Years

Graduation Day— an event where all students dreamt of. This ceremony marks the start of our career. All those difficult tests and subjects were pushed away at just the thought of graduating. When COVID hit and all classes went virtual, I was at my last semester, all of us were wondering what’s next for us? What would be the aftermath of this situation? Will there be an academic break? How will we finish our degree when there are too many restrictions? So many questions left unanswered. Months have passed and the university sent our diplomas door to door, and just like that, we were officially graduates. Most of the time when students graduate, they feel fearful of the uncertain future, well I felt this fear triple as I move into the part where I look for opportunities. At first, I filled up my resume by going to trainings and attending webinars related to my degree. Then, after a few months, I got a call from Nats for my interview, got to talk with some of our leadership team and to cut the long story short, here I am! I started my training shortly after and everything went well. Last March 2022, it was announced that we will be having our graduation ceremony, at last, this year. Of course, me and all my batchmates were thrilled as we’ll officially be putting an end to a chapter together but mostly because we will be seeing each other again. After lots of online orientations for the Investiture rites, the day that we’ve waited for 2 years has come. It was like a mini reunion as we chitchatted on our life updates. The program went on and as my turn to go up the stage turns near, I no longer feel any fear, rather, I felt thankful and relieved. Grateful that I was able to graduate while being an Imagineer at Cooee and relieved that I can now close my Uni episode. Regardless of graduating on time or two years after, this ‘new normal’ event will remain in my memory as time goes on. This commencement is a milestone for me as this represents that I was able to learn and establish structured habits that helped me with my role as an Imagineer here at Cooee.

  • Toni’s #Recooeennect Experience

It was a refreshing moment for me meeting most of my co-cooee employees. Though we’ve been seeing each other virtually; it was still a different satisfaction when you see and meet them personally. Being one of the host and part of the engagement team of #ReCooeennect, I can say that it was very exhausting, but seeing them enjoying and smiling the whole event, makes me feel great to be part of the organizing team. It was a wholesome event for me, as this was the way to interact with my co-employees, but not just with them, I also got to talk with Kris and Pia Buckham themselves, and with the Management Team as well. Most of us just met during that day, but it didn’t feel that way. It’s like we’ve found all our comfort in the presence of each other. Each one will not make you feel that you are a “nooee”, you feel welcomed instantly. I’m happy that I get to bond with the different groups in the #ReCooeennect, met them, get to know their stories and making every conversation comfortable. It was a busy and tiring day for me, but I can honestly say that being with these people doesn’t make me feel exhausted, instead seeing them makes me feel more alive and getting more energy to make them enjoy more with the presence of each one, and I hope I get to bond with them again.

  • Cooee Journey by Dimple Robles

My name is Dimple, and I am working for Cooee Inc. for almost five years now. My career jumpstarted when I was on the hunt for opportunities, I applied to work for a few companies and Cooee Inc. was the first one to reach out. My first role in Cooee Inc. was an Accounts Payable Analyst, which introduced me to the first client, Whale Logistics Australia. Since then, I have been in countless endeavors launched by Cooee, such as being given an opportunity in Accounts Receivable, deployed to Australia for various role trainings, Mindfulness sessions, Intentions and Personal Improvement coaching, and more. Being in Cooee Inc. has helped me improve both professionally and personally. Because of the countless opportunities that Cooee has, I am able to demonstrate my skills and be given insights on how to further improve. Cooee always sees potential in people and nurtures them to grow into being the best version of themselves. This is one of the values that we uphold and continue to impart to people to help both the clients and our employees to be our optimal selves. I would like to acknowledge and give thanks to Cooee Inc., its management, and my colleagues, for collectively contributing opportunities in my professional and personal life and shaping me to be the optimal version of myself, but we all know that this is a continuous journey, and we will continue to traverse the roads of life for this purpose.

To mark our 5year partnership with Whale, we celebrate ‘Whale Month’ this June here in Cooee. • Cooee Journey by Kim Metran

I am always excited to tell stories on how I became part of Cooee. I remember, we were just around twenty people in a small office space 3 years ago. Being in Cooee for 3 years has taught me a lot of things. Looking back, I am astounded on how I transformed. As an intovert person, I found my safe place here in Cooee. This company prioritizes the growth of the employees, when I say growth, it’s not just about the career growth, but more importantly, the personal growth. This company encourage the employees to become their optimal selves through the coaching sessions with the support from the coaches and of course, Kris and Pia. My journey in Cooee would not be this wonderful if I did not become a part of my team — Whale team. Starting from my teammates, whom I felt the trust and support from the very start up to the client who are also very supportive and motivates me to do my best in every given tasks. I can still vividly remember how they welcome us when we visited Sydney last 2019. I am always humbled by the trust that the team is giving me. Being in my position who supports in managing the team, I can always feel my value and purpose whenever I am at work. In this hard time of pandemic, I appreciate Cooee and the clients, especially Whale for allowing us to work remotely. It really shows their care about the employees’ welfare. When I talk about Cooee, I always found myself talking about how welcoming my colleagues and clients are. Although we are working remotely, I also appreciate the effort of the company to stay connected through the Cooee Connects series every Friday. The company indeed values that every conversation counts. To sum it up, being grateful is just an understatement. For me, Cooee is more than just a company, it is a family. It feels surreal how the company has grown into a larger group. I can say that it was such a humble beginning. I always wish Cooee and all the employees the best. I am continuously learning day by day and together, we will become part of each transformation — one person, one community, one business at a time.
